Grupo Sando, the integrated construction services company, has created the corporation Iberov\u00edas together with two other companies, Rover Alcisa and Copcisa, in order to compete in the Railway<\/a> infrastructure maintenance contracts market. The three partners have a \u20ac20-million investment plan to put them at the forefront of the industry by means of the acquisition of modern machinery that has already provided them with major contract awards.<\/p>\n

At an event held at the Railway Museum in Madrid the three partners invited representatives and major figures from all the public administrations and organisations related to railway infrastructure, in order to present publicly the Iberov\u00edas projects for the short and medium term and the modern machinery that the company possesses. Among others attending were different people from the Ministry of Public Works, the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF), RENFE and from various Autonomous Regions.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Luis Sanchez Manzano, the Managing Director of Grupo Sando, highlighted the importance of the alliance of three companies, from Andalusia, Valencia and Catalonia, which \u201creflects a powerful establishment and provides great experience and technical expertise\u201d. \u201cIberov\u00edas\u201d he added \u201cis made for leadership and has the aim of participating in the creation of the Ministry of Public Works\u2019 Infrastructure Plan, in the maintenance of the new High speed<\/a> network and in the renovation of the conventional network, as well as in all the projects promoted by other public administrations\u201d.<\/p>\n

With this initiative, Sando takes one more step in the major railway works industry, adding maintenance tasks to those of construction, where the company has a long career in the main projects undertaken in recent decades, especially as regards the development of the High Speed lines.<\/p>\n

The commitment represented by Iberov\u00edas, formally founded less than a year ago, has already shown significant results with the award of maintenance work on the following lines: Santiago-Orense, the North-Northwest corridor, Cordoba-Malaga, Malaga-Fuengirola, Seville-Cadiz and the Zaragoza-Lleida-Manresa High Speed line.<\/p>\n
