The magazine recognises the track record of the company in promoting workplace health and safety
\nTonight, the Sando Group received the Ejecutivos Andalucia Award 2011 in the category of \u201cBest Company in Workplace Risk Prevention\u201d. The award from \u201cEjecutivos\u201d magazine is recognition of the efforts by Sando to reduce workplace risk during the course of its thirty five year history. <\/p>\n
According to \u201cEjecutivos\u201d magazine, the seventh annual Premio Ejecutivos Andalucia goes to Sando because: \u201cFrom the beginning, Sando has considered workplace health and safety to be an essential factor in its activities and has incorporated it as another key business objective of the organisation\u201d. <\/p>\n
The magazine also noted the actions of the company in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility \u201cenhancing and promoting risk prevention and the health and safety of its employees and associates\u201d. <\/p>\n
Workplace health and safety is a fundamental commitment within the Sando Group, applied transversally in all activities of the Group. Risk prevention policies are organised, coordinated and executed through the Joint Risk Prevention Service. <\/p>\n
In 2009, Sando was the first large company in the construction sector to implement a workplace health and safety system certified under the international BS OHSAS 18001:2007 standard by BSI, UK. <\/p>\n
Sando has received numerous awards for its risk prevention policies. In 2009, the Sando Fundaci\u00f3n received the Prever Award 2008 from the General Council for Industrial Relations and Work Sciences (\u201cConsejo General de Relaciones Industriales y Ciencias del Trabajo\u201d). Additionally, the European Union awarded Sando the SAFE prize in 2001 in recognition of its efforts in the implementation of EU and national health and safety regulations. <\/p>\n
During 2010 and 2011 Sando launched a campaign aimed at improving working conditions and preventing the onset of ergonomic discomfort and problems caused by bad posture in the workplace. In coordination with Mutual Universal, and with the support of its Ergonomics and Biomechanics Laboratory in Navarra, Sando has developed a specialised Health and Safety plan called \u201cPrevention of occupational musculoskeletal disorders\u201d. <\/p>\n
The Sando Fundaci\u00f3n holds an annual risk prevention congress, giving awards to professionals within the company and associates who best reflect the values of risk prevention in their daily work. <\/p>\n
The \u2018Best Company in Workplace Risk Prevention\u201d award will be presented to Sando tonight at an event held at the Cajasol-Banca C\u00edvica headquarters at 20:30. The closing ceremony will be attended by Mr. Manuel Recio, Councillor for Employment of the Government of Andalucia.<\/p>\n
