Pupils undertaking a Series of Civil Engineering Projects at the IES Rosaleda (Secondary School) test the latest advances in applied Topography
\nAround thirty first and second year students undertaking a Series of Engineering Projects were able to enjoy a practical session where they were shown the latest advances in technology applying to the field of construction. Sando professionals showed them how to use the equipment and what it is used for.<\/p>\n
The use of point technology is essential nowadays to keep up with the competition. The Sando Group, with the help of its I+D+i department and Technical Office, are developing projects and investigative studies in order to be able to carry out more efficient and Sustainable construction<\/a> projects.<\/p>\n Students from the Rosaleda Secondary School were given the opportunity to experiment with five of the new technology techniques which speed up the construction process and make construction projects easier. Firstly, how GPS systems work on terrain was explained and then they were taught how to use a station and a level.<\/p>\n Afterwards, they were shown how drones can be adapted to capture topographical information regarding the terrain, the use of which was practically pioneered by Sando when carrying out its investigative project named "LAS Roads<\/a>". And lastly, they were given the opportunity to test how a laser scanner is capable of capturing thousands of points per second.<\/p>\n Each of the participants were handed A-3 infrastructure plans, made up of a ground plan with locating criteria. The students also visited the future \u2018Manuel Becerra\u2019 rugby grounds in Rinc\u00f3n de la Victoria, Malaga.<\/p>\n
