Waste<\/a> collection and urban cleaning system it carries out in V\u00e9lez M\u00e1laga.<\/p>\nIn the infrastructure construction and maintenance field, the auditors have also assessed the works and services that the Sando business group carries out in the Canary Islands, with special attention to the maintenance of the Tenerife South motorway.<\/p>\n
The audits have welcomed implementation in Sando of a computing platform for the total control of documentation of the subcontractors who intervene in its work centres, equipped with a robotised system to prevent fraud and falsification of documents. This robotised tool allows Sando to organise and control the documentation provided by the subcontractors thanks to interaction with the Public Authorities using digital certificates.<\/p>\n
Sando has always been at the forefront in occupational health and safety. In 2001 the European Union awarded it with the SAFE award to work in favour of implementation of community and domestic occupational health and safety standards. Awards to Occupational Health and Safety started in Sando in 2002 and in 2009 it received the Prever 2008 Award from the General Council of Industrial Relations and Employment Sciences.<\/p>\n
Regarding international certifications, in 2009 Sando was the first of the big companies in the construction industry in Spain to certify its Occupational Health and Safety system according to specification OHSAS 18001:2007 by the British Standards Institution (BSI), the entity that managed the global ownership of the intellectual property of these specifications.<\/p>\n
Also, in 2015 it patented a safety device for the development of infrastructures, called \u201cSafety basket for lifting platforms\u201d. The patent was the result of the investigation project SAFE-PEMP, designed to prevent accidents on Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), which are increasing being used by companies.<\/p>\n
The Sando business group has designed in 2017 a methodology and a new system for implementation of propping in ditches, called Carro de Entibaci\u00f3n M\u00f3vil (mobile propping carriage). This is a mobile structure that protects workers and equipment inside them against landslides, minimising the impact on the environment and ensuring a more effective implementation. The project has achieved certification in R&D&i of the EQA (European Quality Assurance).<\/p>\n
