The company has taken part in a demonstration of data collection on the beaches of Malaga
\nThis morning the Sando business group has carried out, with the technology firm Nadir, a practical demonstration of the technology it uses for mass information collection, in the case in the beaches of Malaga. An MMS (Mobile Mapping System) has been installed for the presentation in a quad that has driven along the coastline while capturing thousands of data per second from the beaches.<\/p>\n
As already indicated during the presentation by Sando\u2019s R&D&i director, Juan Antonio B\u00e1ez, it is a technology that Sando typically employs to carry out inventories of cities or beaches, among others: \u201cWe can define a digital model of the coasts, to obtain a profile and monitor the evolution of the coastline or the possible effect of infrastructure due to flood potential or erosion\u201d.<\/p>\n
Sando uses a similar technology together with a Lidar type laser in the 3D-Coast research project: \u201cIt gives us the possibility to have the current status of these spaces in a very short time, as for example when faced with a storm or catastrophe, and act straight away\u201d, said Juan Antonio B\u00e1ez.
\nAfter the demonstration on the beach, the results of the data collection have been presented in the conference hall of the Department of Town Planning of Malaga. Nadir\u2019s engineers, \u00d3scar Rodriguez and Ismael Fern\u00e1ndez, have made a journey through the different technologies currently used, such as MMS, laser or drones and how they offer more complete, fast and precise information. <\/p>\n
The demonstration has been attended by many engineers and the officials of the City Council of Malaga and Regional Government of Andalusia interested in the use of these technologies, such as Sergio Mu\u00f1oz, technical officer of Road Maintenance of the City Council of Malaga, Miguel Nieto, project technician of the Department of Town Planning, or Francisco Sempere, head of the Water Quality Department of the Directorate General of Environmental Conservation of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Environment.<\/p>\n
Sando has a long track record in application of mass data collection systems for construction and maintenance. In this sense, it has carried out several research projects on the subject such as Las Roads<\/a>, using drones for civil works, or the UAV-Green to monitor using drones large areas of parks and gardens, among others.<\/p>\n
