The Andalusian Regional Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development<\/a>, Carmen Crespo, has inaugurated the new hydraulic infrastructure of the Ben\u00ednar Canal in Almer\u00eda. According to the Minister, Sando has executed this civil work that \u201cguarantees water for the farmers in the area\u201d.<\/p>\n

The new pipeline is 2 metres in diameter and 1.5 kilometres long, and replaces the previously damaged section of the Ben\u00ednar-Aguadulce Canal. In addition, Crespo highlighted the role of this sustainable infrastructure: \u201cThe replacement of this pipe is a solution to the rupture of this canal in 2010 due to a storm\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to the Regional Ministry itself, this action responds to the supply needs of farmers. In other words, the farmres form part of the Central Board of Users of Poniente Almeriense. The irrigated crops affected by this section cover an area of 23,200 hectares.<\/p>\n

Sando water<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This hydraulic infrastructure is in addition to others initiated in recent months by Sando in Almeria, such as the hydrogeomorphological restoration and naturalisation project for the Adra river<\/a> by its company specialising in environmental activities (Althenia Sando<\/a>). A work of the Directorate General of Planning and Water Resources.<\/p>\n

As part of Sando\u2019s commitment to environmental Sustainability<\/a> and CSR with water, one of its engineers will be a speaker at the 39th World Congress organised by the\u00a0International Association for Hydro-environmental Engineering and Research (IAHR)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
