{"id":38480,"date":"2024-03-13T13:04:17","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T13:04:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/actualidad\/sando-construccion-to-build-the-last-section-of-the-murcia-almeria-ave-high-speed-train-line-through-lorca"},"modified":"2024-10-29T10:40:16","modified_gmt":"2024-10-29T10:40:16","slug":"sando-construccion-to-build-the-last-section-of-the-murcia-almeria-ave-high-speed-train-line-through-lorca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/en\/actualidad\/sando-construccion-to-build-the-last-section-of-the-murcia-almeria-ave-high-speed-train-line-through-lorca","title":{"rendered":"Sando Construcci\u00f3n to build the last section of the Murcia-Almer\u00eda AVE high-speed train line through Lorca"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transportes.gob.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (Mitma)<\/a>, through Adif Alta Velocidad, has awarded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/sando-construccion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sando Construcci\u00f3n<\/a>, in a joint venture, the contract to build the section that completes the <strong>Murcia-Almer\u00eda AVE<\/strong> line for 328 million euros. <\/p>\n\n<p>This action completes this 17-section line, which acts as a strategic axis of the <strong>Mediterranean Corridor<\/strong> project. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-alta-especializacion-ante-una-obra-compleja-nbsp\"><strong>High specialisation for a complex project<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<p>The construction of this section through Lorca (3.2 km) includes the construction of a 2.9 km tunnel under the old Guadalet\u00edn riverbed. A significant technical challenge for which <a href=\"\/en\/sando-construccion\" title=\"Sando Construcci\u00f3n. Building resilient and innovative infrastructures\" target=\"_blank\">Sando Construcci\u00f3n<\/a> will put into service the experience and qualifications of its specialised teams. <\/p>\n\n<p>To execute this tunnel, the riverbed must be temporarily diverted and restored to its original state once the works have been completed. In these works, as a company specialising in environmental solutions, it will carry out procedures under the highest environmental protection standards, aligning with its <a href=\"\/en\/sustainability\" title=\"Sustainable and efficient environmental solutions\" target=\"_blank\">Sustainability<\/a> commitment. <\/p>\n\n<p>Using a standard gauge double track, this tunnel will be used for passenger and freight traffic. It will connect from the Lorca-San Diego station (Totana-Lorca section under construction) to the junction with the RM-11 road (Lorca-Pulp\u00ed section, also under construction). <\/p>\n\n<p>On this line, Sando Construcci\u00f3n executed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/proyectos\/ave-sorbas-barranco-de-los-gafarillos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sorbas-Barranco de los Gafarillos<\/a> section, the longest tunnel crossing the Sierra Cabrera mountain range and the <strong>longest high-speed tunnel in Andalusia<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-movilidad-sostenible-y-cohesion-territorial-nbsp\"><strong>Sustainable mobility and territorial cohesion<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<p>In the central part of this section, the new Lorca-Sutullena station will be built with a surface area of 2,314 m<sup>2<\/sup>. This station will consist of the old historic building, a landmark of the city and cultural heritage of the region, and a new extended area. <\/p>\n\n<p>This terminal will provide passengers with connectivity between the platforms and underground tracks: two side platforms for high-speed trains and a central platform for local trains. Furthermore, as it will be built next to a bus station, it will facilitate inter-modality: rail connection between medium and long-distance commuter trains and bus lines. <\/p>\n\n<p>These works will provide the city of Lorca with <strong>new <a href=\"\/en\/specialisations\/transport-infrastructure\/passenger-transport\/railway\" title=\"Construction of railroad tracks\" target=\"_blank\">Railway<\/a> connections to promote sustainable mobility and connectivity<\/strong> between different parts of the territory.
