The Government of Andalusia has awarded Sando for its longstanding commitment to promoting health and safety in the workplace. The recognition took place at the Government Delegation in Malaga on the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work<\/a>, in a ceremony presided over by Carmen S\u00e1nchez Sierra, Territorial Delegate for Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment<\/a> in Malaga. <\/p>\n\n

“In 2024, Sando celebrated its 50th anniversary, and throughout this time it has upheld a strong commitment to the health and safety of its more than 2,400 employees, ensuring a safe and healthy<\/a> working environment,” stated Carmen S\u00e1nchez Sierra as she opened her speech, highlighting the company’s major milestones that earned it the award. <\/p>\n\n

The Delegate stressed that Sando was a pioneer in obtaining international certifications in occupational health and safety, starting with OHSAS 18001, and was one of the first companies in Spain to certify its Health and Safety Management System under ISO 45001 in 2019.<\/p>\n\n

Health and Safety<\/strong> Accolades <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Sando’s Director General of Construction, Jaime Rodr\u00edguez Donnelly, and Head of Prevention, Federico Artola K\u00fcstner, received the award from Violeta Arag\u00f3n Correa, Secretary General of the Malaga Association of Builders and Developers<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

In his acceptance speech, Rodr\u00edguez Donnelly underscored Sando\u2019s long-standing philosophy: “We have maintained this commitment since the company\u2019s founding more than 50 years ago, and today it remains a strategic pillar within Sando’s Sustainability Master Plan.”<\/p>\n\n

Other award recipients included the company Facsa-Prolongo<\/a>, the Andalusian Government\u2019s Tobacco Cessation Table programme at the Malaga Centre for the Prevention of Occupational Risks, and the Territorial Delegation for Education, Vocational Training, Universities, Research and Innovation in Malaga.<\/p>\n\n
