In the province of M\u00e1laga, few names have left such a lasting imprint over the past fifty years as Luis Machuca Santa-Cruz. <\/p>\n\n<p>This week saw the launch of the monographic volume <em>Luis Machuca Santa-Cruz, Complete Works 1972\u20132024<\/em>, a richly illustrated publication supported by Sando that offers a graphic retrospective of the architect\u2019s extensive career.<\/p>\n\n<p>Over five decades, Luis Machuca Santa-Cruz has worked closely with Sando on a series of iconic building projects that have contributed significantly to the architectural and cultural development of the province.<\/p>\n\n<p>Among these, one stands out for its international resonance: the rehabilitation of the Caminito del Rey. This ambitious intervention not only restored a historic site but transformed it into a global benchmark in contemporary architecture and engineering. Executed by <a href=\"\/en\/sando-construccion\" title=\"Sando Construcci\u00f3n. Building resilient and innovative infrastructures\" target=\"_blank\">Sando Construcci\u00f3n<\/a>, the project has received multiple international awards for its technical complexity and sensitive integration into the natural environment. <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition to the Caminito del Rey, Sando has collaborated on several other landmark buildings designed by Machuca Santa-Cruz, including the M\u00e1laga Provincial Government Headquarters, the Visitor Centre, and the Felipe VI Theatre and Auditorium, among others.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Book Launch Event<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The presentation took place in the Isabel Oyarz\u00e1bal Room at the Provincial Palace and was attended by prominent figures including the Mayor of M\u00e1laga, Francisco de la Torre; the President of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.malaga.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Provincial Council<\/a>, Francisco Salado; the Dean of the <a href=\"https:\/\/coamalaga.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">College of Architects<\/a>, Susana G\u00f3mez de Lara; the architect Salvador Moreno Peralta; Ferr\u00e1n Ventura, editor at Recolectores Urbanos; and from Sando, Jos\u00e9 Luis S\u00e1nchez Dom\u00ednguez, Honorary Chairman, and Luis S\u00e1nchez Manzano, Executive Chairman.<\/p>\n\n<p>This new volume not only pays tribute to a key figure in Andalusian architecture but also highlights the commitment of companies like Sando to innovation, <a href=\"\/en\/sustainability\" title=\"Sustainable and efficient environmental solutions\" target=\"_blank\">Sustainability<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/en\/sustainability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cultural heritage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Architecture does more than shape skylines \u2014 it defines the identity of a place.
