{"id":54551,"date":"2025-05-08T11:59:59","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T11:59:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/actualidad\/sando-promotes-sustainability-in-its-supply-chain-in-collaboration-with-the-un-global-compact"},"modified":"2025-10-07T16:10:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T16:10:44","slug":"sando-promotes-sustainability-in-its-supply-chain-in-collaboration-with-the-un-global-compact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/en\/actualidad\/sando-promotes-sustainability-in-its-supply-chain-in-collaboration-with-the-un-global-compact","title":{"rendered":"Sando promotes sustainability in its supply chain in collaboration with the UN Global Compact"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In response to the challenges facing the sector\u2014including increased regulatory requirements in ESG matters and a rapidly evolving global market\u2014Sando is working to build a robust and sustainable supply chain governance model.<\/p>\n\n<p>Aligned with this ambition and as part of its 2025\u20132028 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/en\/sustainability\/sdgs-sustainable-development-challenges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainability <\/a>Master Plan, Sando has joined the third edition of the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pactomundial.org\/noticia\/iii-programa-capacitacion-proveedores-sostenibles-5200-pymes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainable Suppliers<\/a>&#8221; programme, as a sponsoring company. This initiative is led by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pactomundial.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UN Global Compact Spain<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icex.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ICEX <\/a>Spain Export and Investment and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionico.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ICO Foundation<\/a>. This third edition has achieved record participation, with 5,200 SMEs from 72 countries registered thanks to the involvement of 48 large corporate sponsors. <\/p>\n\n<p>Through this initiative, Sando offers its suppliers specialised training in <a href=\"\/en\/sustainability\" title=\"Sustainable and efficient environmental solutions\" target=\"_blank\">Sustainability<\/a>, enabling them to better understand new regulations and key topics in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) management. Participants gain exclusive access to <em>online <\/em>courses, <em>live <\/em>and pre-recorded sessions, practical guides, case studies from other companies, and tools for performance evaluation and progress tracking. Additional resources are also provided to support the preparation of regulatory documentation.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In its first year as a sponsoring company, Sando achieved participation from 6% of its target supply chain\u2014namely, its strategic suppliers\u2014reflecting the company\u2019s commitment to building a more sustainable value chain. This commitment aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs 12, 9 and 17) and supports the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/actualidad\/pacto-mundial-naciones-unidas-sando-sostenibilidad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">to which Sando is a signatory.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A shared purpose across the value chain<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Sando\u2019s 2025\u20132028 Sustainability Master Plan is the company\u2019s ESG roadmap for the coming years. It acts as a lever to advance a more sustainable business model in which the supply chain plays a central role in achieving strategic goals. <\/p>\n\n<p>To this end, the plan includes a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sando.com\/en\/sustainability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">strategic line<\/a> dedicated to responsible value chain management, which encompasses a range of actions aimed at: <br\/>Aligning suppliers and subcontractors with business objectives <br\/>Improving the sustainable sourcing model <br\/>Becoming a strategic partner for public bodies and institutions in the sustainable transition of the construction sector\u2019s supply chain <\/p>\n\n<p>Sando\u2019s participation in the programme is part of this strategy and is driven by a threefold objective: <br\/>Competitiveness \u2013 by equipping its partners to face future challenges.<br\/>Supplier value creation \u2013 by providing free, high-quality, and recognised sustainability training <br\/>Purpose \u2013 by promoting the adoption of sustainable practices by sector companies that contribute to economic and social development while reducing environmental impact<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In response to the challenges facing the sector\u2014including increased regulatory requirements in ESG matters and a rapidly evolving global market\u2014Sando is working to build a robust and sustainable supply chain governance model.
