Sando Conservation and Energy modernizes the Sierra Nevada lighting system using state-of-the-art LED technology and intelligent remote management systems, improving energy efficiency, light quality and the protection of the natural environment.

Sando Conservación y Energía has carried out the comprehensive renovation of the lighting system of the Sierra Nevada ski slopes, a strategic action aimed at improving energy efficiency, optimising the quality of lighting and reinforcing the sustainability of one of the most important ski resorts on the peninsula.

The intervention has made it possible to replace the previous lighting system based on sodium vapour technology with state-of-the-art LED luminaires, also incorporating an intelligent remote management system that allows the lighting to be controlled and monitored in real time.

Thanks to this modernization, the facility offers more uniform, efficient lighting that respects the natural and astronomical environment of Sierra Nevada.

Actions carried out in the maintenance of public lighting

Renovation of the lighting of the Río and Maribel ski slopes

The action included the modernization of more than 8 kilometers of lighting on the Rio and Maribel slopes by replacing the existing lighting with high-efficiency LED technology.

Rio Track

Installation of 113 300 W LED luminaires, designed to provide uniform lighting and high energy efficiency.

Maribel Track

Installation of 53 LED luminaires of 300 W, improving visibility and reducing energy consumption compared to the previous installation.

Modernization of the Maribel tunnel

Renovation of the lighting system of the Maribel tunnel route by replacing 12 100 W LED luminaires.

Implementation of an intelligent remote management system

The renovation of the lighting on the Sierra Nevada ski slopes has incorporated an intelligent remote management system that allows the installation to be controlled, supervised and optimised in real time. All LED luminaires are integrated into a connected network that facilitates continuous monitoring of their operation and a more agile response to any incident.
