For the enlargement of the Port of Algeciras, a mote is made to define a pool to generate a new esplanade, a mantle of special concrete blocks on the perimeter, the accompanying filling of the interior of the new mote for the transit and location of machinery and the dismantling of part of the section of the existing mote. The esplanade where the expansion of the Port of Algeciras is being carried out occupies 16 hectares and is made up of 263,500 m3 of fill, 233,000 m3 of all-one in the core of the dyke and 136,100 m3 of breakwater.
