The construction solution for the L’Aldea Bypass on the N-340 road involves an extension to handle daily traffic of around 17,000 vehicles, 4,500 of which are heavy. Sando Infraestructuras y Proyectos, a company specialising in road construction, has carried out the sustainable construction of a new 8.3 km long section of conventional road with three junctions, one at each end and one in between.
Specifications of the L’Aldea Bypass
Its cross-section consists of two 3.5-metre lanes and 2.5-metre shoulders, except for the initial 1,440-metre section, which is the continuation of the pre-existing section over the Ebro River viaduct. Sando used more than one billion cubic metres of landfill for its construction.
