Ranilla WWTP
Operation, maintenance and conservation services for the Ranilla Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The Ranilla WWTP project comprises this wastewater treatment plant’s operation and maintenance service. This station was commissioned in 1980, and after its extension in 1987, it was already capable of treating up to 50,000 cubic metres.
This plant serves the population of Alcalá de Guadaíra, the eastern area of Seville, and the industrial area between these two towns. The increase in industrial activity and population growth in this area led to the need for a new extension of its facilities in 2000.
The current Ranilla WWTP, inaugurated in 2009, integrates new measures that meet the technical requirements to minimise the impact of odours and noise and incorporate environmental sustainability into its management. In this way, it has a system for eliminating potentially environmentally harmful gases such as carbon, nitrogen or phosphorus and is geared towards maximising energy efficiency. The station has a total treatment capacity of 90,000 cubic metres per day and a design population of 350,000 inhabitants.
