Sando Construcción has successfully completed the full refurbishment of the iconic Meliá Marbella Banús Hotel, which now reopens under the prestigious ME by Meliá brand as ME Marbella—a new benchmark for luxury on the Costa del Sol.
The project, delivered in a record timeframe of just eight months, involved a complete transformation of the hotel’s facilities, enabling its repositioning as a five-star property. Sando Construcción brought its technical expertise, experienced team, and firm commitment to quality to meet the high standards required, all within a very limited execution period.
The scope of work included a full renovation of the existing buildings, as well as all communal areas and hospitality zones, endowing the complex with a contemporary and sophisticated look.
The project involved the remodelling of 200 rooms, including two exclusive penthouse suites of 300 and 400 m², one of which features a private pool. New exterior areas have also been developed, such as a main pool with solarium and an integrated beach club.
In addition, new outdoor areas have been created, including a main swimming pool with a sunbathing area and a beach club integrated into the complex.
The refurbishment was carried out in collaboration with architecture studios Domingo Corpas Arquitectura and Álvaro Sans Arquitectura Hotelera.
In this context, Sando Construcción is making progress on the development of the new ME Málaga hotel by Meliá, located in the historic centre of Málaga. The upcoming five-star establishment will feature 128 rooms, including luxury suites, and will be situated in the heart of the city, next to Plaza de la Merced.
Also designed by Álvaro Sans Arquitectura Hotelera, under the direction of Domingo Corpas Arquitectura, the hotel blends contemporary architecture, design, and art, with standout features such as a rooftop infinity pool, a convention centre, and a restaurant.
