Sando Infraestructuras y Proyectos and Sando Conservación y Energía have passed the follow-up audits carried out by the AENOR entity in accordance with the international standard ISO 19650 (parts 1 and 2). This certification accredits the correct management of information in projects developed with BIM methodology in the company.
The certification guarantees that both companies comply with the requirements established by AENOR in its specific regulations for information management through BIM, reinforcing the group’s position in a context of growing technical and regulatory demands.
After this audit, a further step has been taken by unifying in a single certification the management system of Sando Infraestructuras y Proyectos, and Sando Conservación y Energía (through Conacon Sando). This evolution will allow the company to gain in robustness, efficiency and reliability, thanks to the simplification of documentation and the streamlining of processes.
This is a measure developed from Management Systems and aligned with the BIM Spain Plan, which promotes the use of digital technologies for the planning, design and management of construction projects, and which favours the standardisation and unification of information to speed up processes.
In this sense, the scope of this certification applies to civil works in the case of Sando Conservation and Energy and to civil works, building and industry in the case of Sando Infraestructuras y Proyectos. In this way, the company’s ability to perform key functions in BIM environments, such as model coordination, modeling, and auditing, is validated.
Over the last decade, Sando has progressively incorporated the BIM methodology in its research projects, as well as in its actions in infrastructures and conservation.
As a result of this work, the company faces the new contracting scenario with proven internal training in BIM tools and standards, as well as with the ability to define internal BIM management teams, reducing the need for outsourcing in these tasks.
Since this year, the Technical Office department, in collaboration with the engineering and consulting firm Quantia, has launched a BIM Plan aimed at disseminating the available resources, training and raising awareness among the workforce and consolidating a culture of collaborative work based on efficient information management.
The unification of Sando’s BIM management systems is thus a new endorsement of the company’s commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and technical excellence, reinforcing its preparation to face the present and future challenges of the sector.
