The Cuesta Piedra Volleyball Club of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has sealed this weekend its promotion to the Iberdrola League, the highest category of national women’s volleyball. The Tenerife club, which has had the support of the Sando Foundation throughout the season, returns to the elite after being proclaimed runner-up in the Women’s Super League 2, a competition organized by the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation.
The players of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife team have had a memorable season, full of successes in both the regular and final phases, which has allowed them to reach second place in the Women’s Super League 2 and achieve a well-deserved promotion to the Iberdrola League.
In the final phase, after beating Leganés Volleyball in a resounding way, the Cuesta Piedra Volleyball Club played a hard-fought final at the Quico Rivera pavilion against Fedes Ascensores La Laguna, a match that was decided in the last set by a tight 23.
This season is a milestone in the history of the club, which celebrates 40 years of history. In addition to promotion to the Iberdrola League, the Cuesta Piedra Volleyball Club won the 2026 Princess Cup for the first time.
In January, the Tenerife team beat UCAM Torrejón by 31 in the final, winning the first title of the season. Likewise, its player Lisbet Arredondo was distinguished as MVP of the tournament, recognizing her outstanding role in the competition.
Fundación Sando, in its commitment to women’s grassroots sport, highlights the social work of the Cuesta Piedra Volleyball Club, which develops its activity based on values such as honesty, companionship, loyalty and integrity.
The club promotes grassroots sport and currently has more than 300 players, distributed in the benjamín, alevín, infantil, cadet, juvenil and junior female categories, with several teams in almost all of them, consolidating itself as a reference in sports training in Tenerife.
