Althenia Sando provides the cleaning service for ADIF stations in the centre and north of the country

Althenia Sando, a company specialising in Railway cleaning and environmental solutions, will carry out three new station cleaning services for ADIF (Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias). The value of these contracts exceeds 6.5 million euros (including VAT). These station cleaning services include Madrid Puerta de Atocha station, among others. Althenia Sando thus complements the office and other cleaning services it already provides for ADIF.

The first of the cleaning contracts, worth more than 2 million euros, covers the cleaning of ADIF Centro-Sur stations: Alcázar de San Juan and ADIF-Alta Velocidad stations in Ciudad Real, Guadalajara-Yebes, Madrid Puerta de Atocha, Puertollano and Toledo.

The second service awarded, for almost half a million euros, includes cleaning stations in various provinces of Spain, such as Ávila, Ciudad Real, Guadalajara, Madrid, Segovia, Soria and Toledo.

Althenia Sando provides a basic and essential service for the public, guaranteeing the safety and hygiene of users at stations. The cleaning services provided have procedures adapted to ADIF quality requirements and the particular characteristics of each station, taking into account variables such as passenger traffic.

Technology for sustainable cleaning

Althenia Sando uses specialised cleaning systems, such as: self-propelled sweepers and hoovers, scrubbing machines, lifting platforms, rotary scrubbing machines, single disc rotary scrubbing machines and salt spreader stair scrubbing machines.

Althenia Sando also uses cleaning products (detergents, window cleaners and disinfectants), washroom consumables (hand soap and toilet paper), and cleaning utensils (cloths, buckets and cleaning trolleys) awarded the European Ecolabel, the Nordic Swan and the Blue Angel.
