The Fundación Sando NovaCártama women’s table tennis team, competing in Spain’s First National Division, has closed the season with outstanding achievements. These successes are the result of consistent, disciplined training that has allowed the team to consolidate its status as a benchmark in both Andalusian and national table tennis.
With over 40 active players, the club now competes across all regional and national leagues, sometimes fielding more than one team per division. It also boasts one of the most promising youth academies in the country.
The young players of Fundación Sando NovaCártama have built an impressive record, with three athletes called up to the national team and a remarkable list of titles: team champions of Andalusia and Spain in the under‑13 category (both individual and doubles), runners‑up at the Stiga Master Top U11 Europe in Belgium, runners‑up at the World Table Tennis Youth Contender 2025 in Spain, and third place in the Youth Series team event in Croatia — in addition to numerous victories in the under‑15 and under‑11 categories.
The club’s roster includes four of Spain’s most talented young players: Carmen Gómez, Nour Slamti, Lucía Lázaro and Daniela Díaz, who, despite their young age, are already recognised examples of effort, teamwork and perseverance.
During the regular season, the team achieved fourth place in its First Division group, with a 72%-win rate, and finished just two victories away from the top position in a highly competitive league.
This result earned them a place in the promotion play‑offs to the Division of Honour, held in Calella in May 2025, where they reached the final and came close to promotion. The team has set promotion as its clear objective for the upcoming season.
Through this initiative, Fundación Sando once again reaffirms its commitment to grassroots sport, young talent and equality in sport. The project is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well‑being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
