Althenia Sando offers tree and forest management solutions, ranging from the reforestation of degraded areas, overexploited or affected by fires, to the creation of forest mass by planting trees in soils previously devoid of forest, using the appropriate species in each ecosystem. These forests and woodlands, together with the soil and the oceans, act as natural carbon sinks by absorbing atmospheric CO2. According to data from the World Economic Forum, a single tree is capable of absorbing around one ton of CO2 over its lifetime, and the average European emits between five and seven tons of CO2 per year, highlighting the magnitude of our impact. Therefore, at the citizen level, five to seven trees should be planted each year to offset each other’s emissions. Through our forest management and urban tree planting solutions, Althenia Sando actively drives decarbonization, thus contributing to mitigating the effects of climate change. We don’t just plant trees; we create effective carbon sinks. In addition, each hectare of forest we transform absorbs approximately 100 tons of CO 2 reinforcing our dedication to environmental sustainability and the fight against the global ‘climate emergency’.”
