Culture as a driver of social transformation, and public-private collaboration as a vehicle to support emerging artists. Guided by these two principles, Fundación Málaga recently hosted the 5th Gala Ceremony for the 2025–2026 Becas Talento (Talent Scholarships), an event that recognised 18 outstanding young performing arts students who will continue their training at prestigious institutions in Spain and abroad.
As a founding patron of Fundación Málaga, Fundación Sando reaffirms its commitment to cultural development, equal opportunities, and support for the next generation of artists through its involvement in this programme. This commitment was also embodied in the presence of Esther Sánchez Manzano, General Director of Fundación Sando and President of Fundación Málaga, who opened the event with a powerful message:
“Supporting culture means supporting a freer, more critical, and better-prepared society. And if there is one thing that defines the Fundación Málaga model, it is public-private collaboration. This alliance between institutions, businesses and civil society is what makes initiatives like these scholarships possible.”
The gala, held at the Palacio de la Aduana, was an emotional tribute to the talent and dedication of the scholarship recipients, featuring live music and dance performances that highlighted the artistic excellence these scholarships aim to promote. World-renowned institutions such as the Opéra National de Paris, the Royal College of Music in London, the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and the Bard College Conservatory of Music in New York will soon welcome these promising young artists.
In addition to individual recognition, the event also paid tribute to the network of patrons who make the programme possible. Thanks to the contributions of companies, institutions and private individuals—including Fundación Sando—this edition not only maintained its standard but raised it, increasing both the number of scholarships awarded and the financial support provided.
The event was also marked by strong institutional backing, with the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, and Manuel López Mestanza, Head of Culture at Málaga Provincial Council, among the guests in attendance.
At Fundación Sando, we celebrate the success of this latest edition of the Becas Talento and renew our commitment to a form of culture that transforms, unites, and showcases Málaga’s talent on the global stage.
