Sando Construcción has commenced work on the expansion of the Centro de Formación de Seguridad y Emergencias (CIFSE), Madrid’s municipal Security and Emergency Training Centre. This project, promoted by Madrid City Council, aims to extend the centre’s existing facilities with a new teaching block to accommodate the growing training needs of the city’s security, emergency and mobility services.
According to the City Council, the project represents an investment of €13.5 million.
The new building will be fully integrated with the existing main structure, adding 9,720 m² of built space and housing a range of workshop and training classrooms.
The primary objective is to provide a modern, purpose-built space to support the ongoing training of public safety and emergency service professionals.
CIFSE is a municipal training centre responsible for designing, delivering and assessing training programmes for Madrid’s emergency and public safety personnel, including the Municipal Police, Fire Brigade, SAMUR-Civil Protection, and Mobility Agents.
Sando Construcción will deliver a fully connected multi-level building, including a basement level designated for parking. The underground level will provide 60 car spaces and 62 motorcycle spaces, in addition to training areas for mobility courses, utility rooms, and restrooms.
The ground floor—partially below and above ground level depending on orientation—will feature workshop classrooms, an auditorium, an immersive classroom, multi-purpose rooms, restrooms and storage areas. The first floor will house briefing rooms, multi-purpose classrooms, and restrooms, while the second floor will include multi-purpose spaces, meeting rooms, offices and restrooms.
In addition, Sando Construcción will build an adjacent single-storey garage building next to the main structure, located within the existing open space on site.
