Cetursa has awarded Conacon Sando a project to carry out the comprehensive modernisation of the lighting system on several pistes at the Sierra Nevada ski resort, in Granada. The initiative, aimed at consolidating a more efficient and environmentally responsible operational model, forms part of the Sierra Nevada Strategic Plan 2020–2030.
The project includes the complete replacement of the lighting system on the Río and Maribel pistes, as well as along the Antonio Jara chairlift line. Conacon Sando will replace the existing high-pressure sodium luminaires with state-of-the-art LED floodlights, offering improved lighting uniformity, optimal illuminance levels and a significant reduction in energy consumption.
Conacon Sando will assume full responsibility for the project, encompassing technical drafting and design adapted to the orographic conditions of each piste, as well as execution, legalisation and commissioning of the new system.
Planned works include the removal of existing luminaires, the installation of new LED floodlights, the upgrading of electrical panels and the performance of on-snow tests to verify illuminance and uniformity levels.
From a technical standpoint, the comprehensive lighting modernisation project requires improvements in photometric distribution, with a minimum uniformity of 0.2 across 20-metre-wide corridors, a spectral index G of at least 2.0, and zero upward hemispherical light output (ULOR), effectively reducing light pollution to near zero.
The final outcome will reduce installed power by 30 per cent, delivering significant energy savings for the ski resort.
With this contract award, Conacon Sando strengthens its position as a specialist company in efficient energy solutions for complex environments with high technical requirements. The project is aligned with the objectives of Sando’s Sustainability Master Plan, actively contributing to the development of responsible and environmentally respectful infrastructure.
